Elexon Mining is pleased to formally introduce Javier Urriola Palmer, our first dedicated Technical Geomonitoring Specialist based in Chile. Javier’s appointment marks a milestone in Elexon Mining’s global journey as we continue to expand our support for customers across South America. With a degree in mining engineering from the University of Santiago, extensive experience in mining engineering and a growing reputation in geotechnical monitoring, Javier plays a vital role in supporting the needs of local mine operations with Elexon Mining’s advanced wireless underground monitoring systems.
Since commencing in late 2024, Javier has supported key underground operations in Chile. His work includes product demonstrations, technical guidance, and helping customers understand how Elexon Mining’s CaveTracker and Geo4Sight systems act as their visibility below the surface to better manage ground conditions. From his base in Santiago, Javier connects with customers across the region via site visits and video calls, offering localised expertise and support through a more responsive and consistent service for South America. In addition to providing technical expertise, Javier now works closely to build awareness of Elexon’s systems and support demand, given the unique capabilities of the company’s products.
Expomin 2025 marks Elexon Mining’s official introduction of our on-the-ground support. As the largest mining trade show in Latin America, Expomin presents a unique platform to announce our local representative and demonstrate our commitment to serving the region. With mining operations heading deeper underground and the demand for copper continuing to grow, high-quality geomonitoring solutions are more essential than ever.
For Javier, Expomin offers a personal opportunity to meet key decision-makers face-to-face for the first time. After months of working remotely with many of our clients, he’s excited to connect face-to-face, discuss your geotechnical challenges, and showcase the technical strengths of Elexon’s solutions on Stand H42-08 at the Austmine Pavilion.
“Most of my conversations so far have been through video meetings, so Expomin is a great opportunity to meet decision-makers face-to-face, introduce myself properly, and help people understand that our products really are their eyes underground”, expressed Javier.
Outside of his professional role, Javier enjoys a well-balanced life with family, nature, and staying active. He, his wife, and their young son value time spent outdoors, often exploring the natural landscapes of Chile with his family or cycling through local trails. A fan of CrossFit, Javier stays active and energised but also has a reflective side, enjoying the works of Plato and Aristotle and reading in his spare time.
As our first on-the-ground representative in Chile, Javier symbolises Elexon Mining’s strategy of pairing global reach with local expertise. His work supports more than just installations and data, it reflects our commitment to building strong, collaborative relationships, improving responsiveness, and sharing the knowledge that sets Elexon Mining apart.
With a growing footprint in South America and a dedicated presence now established, we look forward to continuing our partnerships across the region and sharing more about our work at Expomin 2025.
If you are attending the event, be sure to visit Elexon Mining at the Austmine Pavilion Stand H42-08 to meet Javier and learn more about how we support underground operations around the world.
